ELITE DEVELOPMENT

   *Trainers, Dave Kern, Nick Noble, Garret Pettis, Paul Wilson

  • Ages: 8-12
  • Players seperated by age but also ability level (travel and premier players)
  • Players will go through 15 weeks of increasing ones ability at the right pace
  • Training starts with a proper warmup and speed/agility training
  • Warmup session will work on first quick step, balance, coordination, and agility using speed ladders and hurdles (12-15 minutes)
  • Technical Work includes dribbling, passing/receiving, finishing, defending (12-15 minutes)
    • Weeks 1-5
      • Travel Group: control of the ball (basic functional training)
      • Premier/Advanced Group: attacking moves, dribbling/passing out of pressure, combination play in possession and goal to goal
    • Weeks 6-10
      • Travel Group: increasing functional technical skills (attacking moves/combination play and going to goal)
      • Premier/Advanced Group: continued combination play adding in third and fourth option, increasing creativity of individual play
    • Weeks 11-15
      • Travel Group: continued combination play and additional additional options
      • Premier/Advanced Group: focus on speed of play, movement with and without the ball/composure going forward to goal
  • Topic Training for both groups (12-15 minutes)
    • Week 1 – 1v1s, 2v1s, 2v2s (focus on attacking)
    • Week 2 – Finishing with no defenders
    • Week 3 – Finishing with pressure
    • Week 4 – Possession with focus on in/out options
    • Week 5 – Defending techniques (1v2s 2v3s)
    • Week 6 – Transitional play (attacking to defending)
    • Week 7 – Transitional play continued
    • Week 8 – Possession (field/spacial awareness)
    • Week 9 – Finishing continued (breakaways, set pieces)
    • Week 10 – Finishing continued (PKs, shaping the ball)
    • Week 11-15 – Coaches will review topics within groups that need additional training in those areas
  • Small Sided for both groups (12-15 minutes)
    • Groups will always finish with small-sided games to apply topics to live games — the game is the best teacher

 

GOLAZO SCHOOL (Golazo translation – ‘the amazing goal’

   *Trainers, Nick Noble, Dave Kern, Garret Pettis, Paul Wilson, Keenan Scheaffer

  • Ages: 8-12
  • Training open to field players and goal keepers
  • Technical training includes dribbling, passing/receiving, attacking moves.  GKs will be involved in technical training using their hands and feet (10-12 minutes)
  • Topic Training includes:
    • Field Players – Finishing with focus on proper first touch towards goal composure, picking the right spot, taking on last defenders, breakaways, PKs, shaping the ball
    • GKs – Handling, set positions, positioning with regards to cutting angles, reaction saves, communications with defenders, dealing with the breakaways/PKs

 

JUNIOR ACADEMY

   *Trainer, Darvin Ebanks

  • Ages: 5-8
  • Sessions geared to the younger/developing player
  • Any players 7-8 years old playing travel/premier soccer is encouraged to sign up for Elite or Golazo Schools
  • Training focuses on fun, technical activities to get your player loving the game
  • Sessions will always end with World Cup Games

 

SPRING SEASON PREP SCHOOL

  • Ages: 8-14
  • Training focuses on all aspects of the game from technical to tactical training
  • Training focuses on getting players ready to get back outside — ready for Club training/soccer
