  • 04/01/15 Islanders Look for First Win vs. Charleston

    Harrisburg – Harrisburg City Islanders look for their first win in their second road trip of the 2015 season, as they head down south to Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, SC where they take on the Charleston Battery. The game is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
    During the 2014 season the two squads faced off three times.

    PITTSBURGH – A hat-trick by Kevin Kerr and two goals from Rob Vincent fired the Pittsburgh Riverhounds to a 5-2 win against the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday in a blistering start to the 2015 USL season at Highmark Stadium.

    Harrisburg City Islanders announced today that the club has three players on Loan from the Philadelphia Union, the team’s official MLS affiliate, for the 2015 USL season opener.


    Harrisburg, PA – The Harrisburg City Islander and Pittsburgh Riverhounds are pleased to announce that the USL clubs will be competing for the Keystone Derby Cup during the 2015 USL Season in a four game tournament series.
    The Keystone Derby Cup will be awarded to the team compiling the best head-to-head record over four regular-season scheduled to begin and end the 2015 USL Season.

  • 03/17/15 Islanders Sign Cruz and Benbow for the 2015 Season

    Harrisburg – The Harrisburg City Islanders are pleased to announce the signing of two midfielders, Erick Neres da Cruz and Cardel Benbow, for the 2015 season. Both players pending USSF approval.

    The 5-foot-10, 158-pound Cruz from Ilha Solteira, São Paulo, Brazil started his professional career with Brazil’s Ituano F.C. in 2009 before transferring to G.D.

    Harrisburg, PA- Harrisburg City Islanders have transferred forward Morgan Langley to St. Patrick’s Athletic FC, the club announced today.
    St. Patrick’s is an Irish football club, based in Inchicore, Dublin that plays in the Irish Premier Division.

    Harrisburg, PA – The Harrisburg City Islanders are pleased to announce that they have signed a three-year deal with the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, located at 148 Sheraton Dr., New Cumberland, PA 17070. They will host the City Islanders opponents during the fourteen home matches from April to September.

  • 02/26/15 Pettis Returns for 2015 Season

    The 6-foot forward, Garret Pettis returns for his third season with the City Islanders. Coming back from a devastating hip injury in 2013, Pettis played a significant role during the 2014 season, appearing in 23 games, tallying 671 minutes on the pitch, netting three goals and dishing-out two assists.

    Midfielder, Danny DiPrima, returns for his second season with the Isles. Appearing in 13 games, tallying 423 minutes on the pitch, DePrima dished-out one assist for the City Islanders.
    Prior to joining the Islanders in 2014, the 5-foot-9 midfielder played collegiately for North Carolina State University.

    Returning for his second season with the club, Shaffer has become a staple in the Isles backfield. Neil is prepared to build off yet another impressive season in 2015.  Shaffer played a key role in Harrisburg’s defense during the 2014 season, appearing in 19 matches, tallying over 1,193 minutes on the pitch and competing for the 2014 USL PRO Championship against Sacramento FC.

    Jose Maria Barril, forward,  returns for his second season with the Islanders on a transfer from Read Madrid.  Jose Barril started his career at Real Madrid, spending over 14 years at their prestigious academy. During his time with Real Madrid, Jose made several appearances, participating in both reserve and first team match, including Champions League matches.

    Returning for his fourth season with the club, Ekra has become a staple in the Isles front line. Yann is prepared to build off yet another impressive season in 2014.  Ekra played a key role in Harrisburg’s attack during the 2014 season, appearing in 26 matches, tallying 2,033 minutes on the pitch.  Yann also netted one goal and dished-out a team high, six assists for the Isles in 2014.

    Veteran goalkeeper, Nick Noble, returns to Harrisburg for his fourth season in net for the Isles.  Noble is coming off an outstanding 2014 season in which he started in all 26 matches, tallying a team-high 2274 minutes on the pitch.
