    CHESTER, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders surged back with two goals in the final 11 minutes to level the score, but a stoppage-time free kick by Ronald Alberg gave the Philadelphia Union a dramatic 3-2 victory in the Fourth Round of the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night at Talen Energy Stadium.

    HARRISON, N.J. – Sean Davis’ rebound was all the offense the New York Red Bulls II would need as they held the Harrisburg City Islanders at bay the rest of the way for a 1-0 victory on Thursday at Red Bull Arena. With the win, NYRBII moved alongside Louisville City FC atop the Eastern Conference in points with identical 8-1-3 records and 27 points.

    Harrisburg, PA (May 31, 2016) – City Islanders will travel to Tennessee and be hosted by NPSL-side Chattanooga FC in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday June 1, 2016.
    This will be the first time the clubs face off in Open Cup history.  Both teams have participated in Open Cup play in the past and are no rookies to the century-old tournament.

    CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati thrilled a crowd of 16,097 fans at Nippert Stadium with a goal in either half to take a 2-0 win against the City Islanders on Saturday night, extending their undefeated streak to six games.

  • 05/26/16 MATCH PREVIEW: Islanders Get Second Go at FC Cincinnati Saturday

    Harrisburg, PA (May 26, 2016) – City Islanders FC will have very little time between games as they travel to Cincinnati FC this Saturday, May 28 for their third game in less than a week.
    In the first two games of the week City was able to find quality form early to take a 2-0 lead in both games before the end of the first 45 minutes.

  • 05/24/16 MATCH REPORT: City Islanders Secure Three More Points at Clipper Magazine Stadium

    Harrisburg, PA (May 24, 2016) – City Islanders FC picked up their second USL win in three days and their third win over all with a 2-1 win over Toronto FC II at Clipper Magazine Stadium in front of an attendance 1,531 on Tuesday night.
    Paul Wilson and Aaron Wheeler duplicated City’s efforts from Sunday night by combining for two quick goal in the first half.

    Harrisburg, PA (May 23, 2016) – After finding three points for the first time in over a month against Bethlehem Steel FC on Sunday night, the City Islanders will take on Toronto FC II at Clipper Magazine Stadium Tuesday, May 24 at 7 p.m.

    City found a win against their newest USL instate rival because of two early back-to-back goals from Aaron Wheeler in less than two minutes.

  • 05/22/16 MATCH REPORT: City Islanders Defeat Bethlehem in First Ever Matchup

    Harrisburg, PA (May 22, 2016) – The City Islanders already have one instate rival in the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and after taking down the newest USL team in Pennsylvania by a final of 3-1 in Clipper Magazine Stadium, they may have created a second.
    Bethlehem Steel FC came into the match on a five game undefeated streak, while City had only one victory in their last five USL outings.

  • 05/19/16 City Islanders Advance to Third Round of U.S. Open Cup After Defeating West Chester United

    Harrisburg, PA (May 18, 2016) – The City Islanders advanced to the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after defeating West Chester United Soccer Club 2-0. The club will travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee for their next Open Cup test against NPSL-side Chattanooga FC on June 1.

  • 05/16/16 U.S. Open Cup Preview: City Islanders Face West Chester United in Second Round

    Harrisburg, PA (May 16, 2016) – City Islanders FC will once again take part in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup when they take on West Chester United in the second round on Wednesday, May 18.

    In West Chester United’s first round matchup against Fredericksburg’s FC they played 120 minutes and still were not able to find a winner.

    The City Islanders will be holding a Lancaster Kickoff Party to promote their upcoming matches at Clipper Magazine this Sunday, May 15 at Loxley’s Restaurant in Lancaster from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
    The event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Loxley’s Restaurant (500 Centerville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601). City Islanders Football Club coaches, players and staff will be in attendance.

    The City Islanders will return to Clipper Magazine Stadium Sunday, May 22 at 6:00 p.m. to face the Bethlehem Steel for the first time in club history and Tuesday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. to face Toronto FC II.

  • 05/09/16 MATCH REPORT: City Islanders Fall Short to Charleston Battery

    Harrisburg, PA (May 9, 2016) – City Islanders FC fell to the Charleston Battery in a 3-2 match that ended with City failing to get the equalizing goal on a penalty kick in stoppage time at home on Monday night.
    Brett Jankouskas, who came in just minutes prior, was pulled down from behind as he was making a dangerous run into Charleston territory.

    Harrisburg, PA (May 8,2016) – After earning a 1-1 draw against Cincinnati, the Islanders will face one of their biggest rivals just two days later. The Charleston Battery will make their first and only trip to FNB Field this season on Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m. Last season the Islanders only managed one tally while giving up 10 total goals in three games against the Battery.

  • 05/07/16 MATCH REPORT: Islanders Settle for Draw Against FC Cincinnati

    Harrisburg, PA (May 7, 2016) – City Islanders FC and FC Cincinnati played to a 1-1 draw in their first ever match in Harrisburg in front of 2,204 fans at FNB Field on Saturday night.
    Craig Foster broke the scoring open with a hard shot over the shoulder of the Cincinnati goalie to give the Islanders 1-0 lead less than 20 minutes into the game.
