    CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Battery forward Dane Kelly opened the scoring in the second minute and added his second of the night with a brilliant 25-yard blast in the second half to lead the hosts past the Harrisburg City Islanders 4-1 on Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium.

    Harrisburg, PA (June 25, 2015) – It has been a tough month for the Harrisburg City Islanders. After going a month without losing a game, they have now gone a month without winning one.
    They will be looking to stem the tide this Saturday when they invade Blackbaud Stadium to take on the Charleston Battery at 7:30 p.m.

    Islanders midfielder, Yann Ekra, was named to the USL Team of the Week following an impressive performance against league leading Rochester.  Ekra and the Islanders almost handed Rochester their first loss in a 1-1 draw at Skyline Sports Complex on Friday, June 19th.

  • 06/19/15 Islanders tie undefeated Rochester 1-1 in front of record-breaking crowd

    The Harrisburg City Islanders were on the verge of pulling a major upset at Skyline Sports Complex against the Rochester Rhinos but gave up a late goal to end the match at a 1-1 draw in front of a record-breaking 3,024 fans.

    Harrisburg almost accomplished something no other team has been able to do this season, beat the Rhinos in regulation.

    Harrisburg, PA (June 16, 2015) – Following a 1-1 draw in St. Louis last week the Harrisburg City Islanders will be at home looking to get their first win in almost a month when they take on the Rochester Rhinos this Friday, June 19 on City Island at 7:30 p.m.
    Getting a result will be tough against league leading Rochester who hasn’t lost a game all season.

    Harrisburg, PA (June 13, 2015) – Philadelphia Union announced today that the club has loaned four players to the team’s official USL affiliate, Harrisburg City Islanders, for tonight’s match. Forward Jimmy McLaughlin, midfielders Erik Ayuk and Eric Bird, and defender Raymond Lee will join the City Islanders for their USL match, June 13 against St. Louis FC.

  • 05/27/15 Islanders Knocked Out of Open Cup in 3-1 Overtime Defeat

    In a game that took 120 minutes to get a result the Harrisburg City Islanders were knocked out of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after losing 3-1 to the Rochester Rhinos Wednesday, May 27 on City Island.
    Despite opportunities for both sides in the first 105 minutes of the match the Islanders were not able to finish until the 106 minute of play.

  • 05/27/15 Union Loans Bird for U.S. Open Cup Match vs. Rochester

    The Harrisburg City Islanders announced today that the club has added Eric Bird from the Philadelphia Union, the team’s official MLS affiliate, for their 3rd Round U.S. Open Cup Match against the Rochester Rhinos. This will be Bird’s first game with the Isles this season.
    Bird, 21, was selected by the Union with the No. 41 overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.

    For the second year in a row the Harrisburg City Islanders will be playing in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after taking down Reading United A.C.
    The last time the teams met in the tournament Reading pulled the upset and sent Harrisburg packing.

    Harrisburg – After a successful road stint the Harrisburg City Islanders finally return home to face the Charlotte Independence on City Island this Saturday, May 16th at 7 p.m.

  • 05/10/15 Stoppage-Time Goal Pushes Islanders Past NYRB II

    HARRISON, N.J. – The Harrisburg City Islanders claimed their second consecutive victory as a stoppage-time goal lifted them to a 2-1 win against the New York Red Bulls II on Saturday afternoon at Red Bull Arena. An own-goal by Konrad Plewa proved the difference, after the teams exchanged goals in the first half.
    The teams were off to the races from the sound of the first whistle.
