    In their last outing City suffered their first loss in more than two weeks at the hands of the second place team in the conference, the New York Red Bulls II.

    Harrisburg, PA (August 2, 2016) – The point streak for City Islanders FC was snapped at three games as they were shutout 0-5 by New York Red Bulls II at FNB Field on Tuesday night in front of 1,837 fans.
    New York was able to take both games from the Islanders this season by an aggregate score of 6-0.

    New York Red Bulls II – Tuesday, Aug 2 @ 7 p.m.
    The Red Bulls will come into FNB field off of only their second loss of the season. They are in the second spot in the division, but could solidify themselves as the top team in the league with a win on Tuesday.
    City and the Red Bulls met earlier in the season with New York taking a narrow 1-0 win in Red Bull Arena.

    Harrisburg, PA (July 29, 2016) – Although City Islanders and the Rochester Rhinos ultimately played to a 1-1 draw, it was a positive result for the Islanders as they extended their unbeaten streak to three games on Friday night at FNB Field.
    The theme for the first 80 minutes of the match was missed opportunities.

    HARRISBURG, PA (July 28, 2016) – In the soccer world, former teammates can turn into coaching rivalries, which is the story with the City Islanders head coach and General Manager, Bill Becher, and the Rochester Rhino’s head coach, Bob Lilley.
    The pair played one season together with the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL)’s Hershey Impact during the 1990-1991 season.

    07/27/16 MATCH PREVIEW: Islanders Return to FNB Field July 29 & August 2

    Harrisburg, PA (July 27, 2016) – With the two wins in their two games, City Islanders FC have put themselves back in the playoff race and get even closer with two big wins this Friday, July 29 and Tuesday, August 2 at FNB Field.
    For only the second time this season City was able to string together wins. It was their first such feat on the road.

    USL News Release, Tuesday, July 19, 2016
    TAMPA, Fla. – Jose Barril has been name on the USL’s Team of the week in the 17th week of the 2016 season after leading the islanders to a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in their second meeting the Keystone Derby Cup game. Barril hoisted his team to victory by dishing out an assist and scoring a goal.

    PITTSBURGH – The Harrisburg City Islanders tallied twice in the opening half and held off the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for a 2-1 victory on Sunday at Highmark Stadium in the Keystone Derby clash. The match was originally scheduled for April 9. Dante Leverock and Jose Barril each scored in the first half to lift the City Islanders.

    Lancaster, PA (July 10, 2016) – A series of quick second half goals from Toronto FC II lifted them to a 4-2 win over City Islanders FC on Sunday night in front of 1,503 fans at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
    It was the second time the teams had met in Lancaster this season. City was able to grab the first game with a resounding 2-1 win that was not as close as the score would indicate.

    Harrisburg, PA (July 1, 2016) – The time has finally come for the City Islanders and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds to face-off in the 2016 K&L Gates and  Pennsylvania Lottery Keystone Derby.  The Pennsylvania rivals were scheduled to play earlier this season on April 9 at the Riverhounds’s Highmark Stadium but inclement weather in Western PA lead to a postponed match.

    The first leg of the K&L Gates and Pennsylvania Lottery Keystone Derby Cup will finally take place between City Islanders FC and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds almost three months after the game was supposed to be played.
    The two cross-state rivals will renew their rivalry with the first of three matches on Monday, July 4 in Pittsburgh at Highmark Stadium.

    Harrisburg, PA (June 25, 2016) – City Islanders FC suffered the sixth straight loss of the season in a contentious 3-1 match against the Charlotte Independence on Saturday afternoon at FNB Field.
    After inclement weather and unsatisfactory field conditions stalled the game the previous night, the two teams were finally able to get their final meeting of the season underway a day later.

  • 06/25/16 USL Formally Welcomes Nashville to League

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The United Soccer League formally welcomed its new Nashville franchise to the league today in a downtown public celebration that included Nashville Mayor Megan Barry and the team’s ownership group. The franchise revealed that the team would be known as Nashville FC and would immediately begin accepting ticket deposits for its inaugural 2018 campaign.
