Harrisburg City Islanders announce partnership with Spooky Nook Sports

Harrisburg, Pa (March 12, 2017) – The Harrisburg City Islanders have announced that Spooky Nook Sports will be the Official Strength and Conditioning Partner for the team during their 2017 campaign.

The Islanders will start training at Spooky Nook Sports Monday, March 13 and will continue until the start of the regular season. During this training session, the Islanders have access to some of the best indoor facilities in the country to prep for their run at a USL Championship in 2017.

The team is set to participate in strength, speed, agility and performance training under the supervision of Spooky Nook’s Director of Sports Performance, Jim Launer.

Spooky Nook Sports is the largest indoor sports complex in the United States and possibly the world. The campus sits on 65 acres of land just outside of Lancaster, Pa. and features 700,00 square feet of the highest quality regulation courts and playing fields for more than a dozen different sports under one roof.

Since 2011, Spooky Nook has hosted everything from youth tournaments to the U.S. Women’s National Field Hockey team as they prepared for the 2016 Rio Olympics. The Harrisburg City Islanders are appreciative to have such a quality training facility within a short drive from their home field.

During their time at Spooky Nook, the Islanders will be staying at The Warehouse Hotel located within Spooky Nook Sports.

The Islanders complete their preseason with a match-up against Bethlehem Steel FC at YSC Sports in Wayne, PA on Thursday, March 16 at 11 a.m.

Your Harrisburg City Islanders continue to prepare for their defense of City Island in 2017 and get their season underway on the road at the Richmond Kickers on March 25 at 7 p.m.

They return to rock the Island for their home opener against their in-state rival on April 15 at 7 p.m. Stay tuned for updates on how this Home Opener will be unlike any other in Islanders history.


The Harrisburg City Islanders are entering their 14th Season in Central Pennsylvania as a professional soccer team in the United Soccer League. The league represents the highest level of competition in the United States and Canada outside of Major League Soccer (MLS). In addition to the professional squad, the Harrisburg City Islanders Academy fields youth teams for boys and girls ages 9-23. The City Islanders Academy is dedicated to player development in Central, Pennsylvania. The premier level Academy teams participate in the nationally recognized Super Y-League.
