Harrisburg, PA (March 3, 2017) – The Harrisburg City Islanders continue their slate of preseason games with a matchup with LIU-Brooklyn Blackbirds at Capelli Sports Complex in New Jersey today, Friday, March 3 at 4:30 p.m.
Head Coach Bill Becher’s team is starting to take shape with players Johnny Mendoza, Lee Nishanian and Chris Hill being added to the roster during the past week. Along with the signings, the squad continues to hold camps to round out and finalize their 2017 roster.
Come out to Lower Dauphin Middle School’s home field at 251 Quarry Rd, Hummelstown, PA at 4:30 to catch the first look at your 2017 Islanders. Admission is free to all who attend.
The Islanders started off the preseason with a 1-0 victory over Lehigh, where they got a goal from trialist Martin Galvao. After the game at Capelli, the Islanders will return home to Lower Dauphin to face the University of Maryland-Baltimore County on Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
Harrisburg will kick off their season on the road against the Richmond Kickers at City Stadium on Saturday, March 25 at 7 p.m.
The City Islanders then start their defense of City Island against in-state for the Bethlehem Steel FC on Saturday, April 15 at 7 p.m.
