City Islanders Sign Midfielder Danny DiPrima

Homegrown Player was a member of the Islanders Youth Academy

(Harrisburg, PA)- The Harrisburg City Islanders are thrilled to announce the signing of homegrown player Danny DiPrima. The rookie midfielder will join the Isles in 2014 after playing collegiately with North Carolina State University. The 22 year old is a product of the City Islanders Youth Academy and is a graduate of Northern York High School.

The 5-foot-9, 155-pound midfielder had a terrific collegiate career at NC State. During his three year run with the Wolfpack, DiPrima appeared in 51 matches, netting four goals and dishing out five assists. The York native transferred to NC State during his sophomore season after beginning his career at St. John’s University in Queens, New York. DiPrima is also a member of the Harrisburg Heat professional indoor team.

Prior to his NCAA career at North Carolina State, DiPrima had an outstanding youth career with Northern York High School and the Harrisburg City Islanders Youth Academy. At Northern, DiPrima was a four-year varsity starter at and earned first-team all-conference honors as a junior and senior. He was also voted conference player of the year as a junior. DiPrima captained the Polar Bears during both his junior and senior seasons at Northern.

With the 2014 USL PRO season rapidly approaching, the Isles are preparing for yet another action-packed season in USL PRO. The Islanders kick off their season on the road on April 5th against the Wilmington Hammerheads at Legion Stadium. The Isles’ home opener is slated for April 19th against the Dayton Dutch Lions.
