Danny DiPrima returns for his fourth season with the Harrisburg City Islanders.
Last season, the local footballer played in 16 games for the Islanders for a total of 480 minutes, after coming back from a season-ending injury in 2015. Those minutes were turned into four shots including one shot on goal.
DiPrima was vital to Harrisburg’s success in previous years. In 2015, the midfielder scored one goal in his 881 minutes on the pitch, and helped lead the team to the 2014 USL Championship Final. Additionally, in 2014, DiPrima made 15 appearances and scored one goal and one assist.
DiPrima started his collegiate career at St. John’s University before transferring to NC State University. During his three seasons with the Wolfpack, he appeared in 51 matches, netting four goals and dishing out five assists.
DiPrima had an outstanding youth career with Northern High School and the Harrisburg City Islanders Youth Academy. At Northern, DiPrima was a four-year varsity starter where he earned First-Team All-Conference honors as a junior and senior and captained the Polar Bears. He was also voted Conference Player of the Year in his junior year.
