The Harrisburg City Islanders Unveil 2017 Match Schedule



The Harrisburg Club to Play All 16 Home Matches at FNB Field in 2017

Harrisburg, PA (January, 31, 2017) – The Harrisburg City Islanders today announced the release of their 2017 regular season match schedule. With the addition of Ottawa Fury FC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the Harrisburg City Islanders will play 32 matches in total in 2017.  This season will be the United Soccer League’s (USL) largest season to date with 480 matches being played in just 30 weeks.  Harrisburg’s 2017 regular season match schedule can be viewed here.

The announcement of the 2017 schedule also marks the Harrisburg City Islanders’ full-time return to FNB Field. The club adopted FNB Field in 2016 as their home venue and utilized it for 10 matches over the course of the season. The Harrisburg team played their remaining 5 matches at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Club President Tiago Lopes looks forward to the season ahead for the Harrisburg franchise and is excited for the club to play on City Island full-time since leaving Skyline Sports Complex in 2015.

“Playing on City Island is very exciting for our organization.  Fourteen years ago, the club was adopted by this region and we are grateful for the support that we have received from our fans and our partners. The City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Senators have been great partners over the years and we are pleased with our continued relationship. City Island is an integral part of Central PA and being a part of that history is essential to our team. 2017 is going to be a great season and would like to call out to our fans to join us April 15th so we start an extraordinary journey here,” Lopes stated.

The Harrisburg City Islanders will make their return to City Island on Saturday, April 15th as they play their 2017 home opener at FNB Field against Pennsylvania rival, the Bethlehem Steel FC.

The Harrisburg City Islanders are entering their 14th Season in Central Pennsylvania as a professional soccer team in the United Soccer League. The league represents the highest level of competition in the United States and Canada outside of Major League Soccer (MLS). In addition to the professional squad, the Harrisburg City Islanders Academy fields youth teams for boys and girls ages 9-23. The City Islanders Academy is dedicated to player development in Central, Pennsylvania. The premier level Academy teams participate in the nationally recognized Super Y-League.
